Just for You Card

Published with Blogger-droid v1.7.4

This is one of the make and takes I had my new friends do at Jane's party last Friday. I think they really liked this project. It used the Big Shot Tulips Embossing folder, ribbon and rhinestones of course. I must admit that I was a little rusty since it's been a while since I did a live workshop, but it reminded me why I love this job. It's all about connecting with people, new friends, food and stamping! How could it be better then that?

Creative Block

I
Published with Blogger-droid v1.7.4

I don't know about all of you, but sometimes I go blank when it comes to designing.....That's when I pull out my old copies of the Stampin' Success magazines. The Stampin' Success is a monthly publication that Stampin' Up! sends all us Demonstrators and it's FILLED TO THE BRIM with creative ideas (cards, scrapbook pages, 3-d items and tons of WOW ideas from fellow demos or the home office). It also has business building tips, success stories of course, monthly contests and demonstrator profiles along with RECOGNITION to the demos that are reaching out and making a difference in the world. I really do rely on that magazine for ideas and encouragement. It's just one of the many, many perks of being a Stampin" Up! Demonstrator. You should call me for more info....

During the month of August you order 3 and get 1 FREE. It couldn't be simpler or better timing. I don't know about you but August and September are the times I really get back into scrapbooking. A gift from the Summer Mini Catalog

Published with Blogger-droid v1.7.4

I saw this adorable card created by "stampingfordummies" and I had to take the basic idea from the card for my version. The Summer mini catalog has such a variety of new sets, papers and accessories that range from nautical to spring flowers. As always, the first 2 things on my wish list are paper and punches. I love, love, love to stamp on our Designer Series Paper and the punches make it so easy to finish off a project in style.
Check out the mini on my website at www.jackiehoward.stampinup.net
or call me at 303-908-8504 to get a copy all to yourself.

Ready, Set, STAMP! Check out the NEW Idea Book & Catalog for 2012!

Ready, Set, STAMP-Check out the NEW Idea Book & Catalog!

I have had this catalog for about a month now & it already looks tired & worn out :(

I am much more "into" scrapbooking then I am into cards......although, I do handout a ton of cards. So, I was pleasantly surprised when I opened this Idea Book and found tons of pages, tags and other "safe" elements that I can use on my pages.
I tend to over think the layout of my pages and the samples this year really have helped me see the wow factor of some of the most basic techniques.

Please take a few minutes (LOL-WHO am I kidding?) to look over the new Idea Book & Catalog by going to www.jackiehoward.stampinup.net.

If you want to own a copy of this wonderful book (that is crammed with great ideas), give me a call and I can help you accomplish that.

MoJo Monday challenge

Published with Blogger-droid v1.6.6

I stumbled across this sketch in another blog and I couldn't resist the layout on this sketch. I think it would be a great scrapbook layout also. Hmmmm, maybe I'll use this layout to finish up that page I stated back in April of my daughter!
I don't know if you can really see all that is on this card, but I used our pearls on the side of the card and on the petals of the flower. It adds an elegant flair without being too over the top. If I had not already packed my pastels away, I would have dotted some color on the flower and the leaves.

3 times the fun

Published with Blogger-droid v1.6.6

I have been using our newest Big Shot embossing folder on every piece of scrap cardstock I can find. It amazes me that one folder can look so different on every color and you should see it on vellum, lovely!

The first step in a scrapbook page

I had this card front in my "treasure" drawer made with a Stampin' Up! embossing folder. Then I found this sweet picture of my daughter, Amy and since I am in the scrapbooking frame of mind....I thought together they made a great start to a wonderful page :)
I used the new Four Frames stamp set (that is SNEAK PEEK of what's coming up in the new catalog in July) to put the date of the picture, but, sigh, I have packed away my photo safe pens and markers.
So I have to put a sticky note on the back of the frame until I can unpack my stuff.

I did want to remind you that you too can get this set and some marvelous new DSP called Paisley Petals for only a $25 order until April 30.

Please check out all of the details on my website at WWW.jackiehoward.stampinup.net or call me at 303-908-8504.

Hurry, time is running out!!!!

And you thought I was kidding....

This is how my office looks right now. I have a small walk way and boxes full of wonderful treasures just waiting to be unpacked again. Of course, now I have this incredible surge of scrapbooking creativity. I see possible layouts in everything I glance at.....I need
To buy a sketchbook so I don't lose any ideas in this move. ;)

Stamping challenge.....

What is my stamping challenge you ask? Limited access to my supplies, trying to find time while packing, yadda, yadda, yadda.
I did manage to cut some Pear Pizzaz, some NEW DSP, broke out my paper flowers and, low and behold, I actually got a card made!!!
I really do love the texture and look of our textured paper, it makes the finished project look so professional. It is just amazing to me how such a subtle feature can make the project just nice to WOW!

All boxed in!

Hi all, I just wanted to touch base and let you all know that my office is currently jammed with packed boxes. I literally have a small walking space between boxes that are stacked about 6 feet high, no joke! I know where my paper, inks and stamps are, I just can't get to them right now. The other rooms on the bottom level are being painted tomorrow, so I will once again gain access to my survival kit and will be posting something tomorrow......thanks for your patience all. :)

No, I have not fallen in a deep, black hole......LOL

Hi all, thanks for your patience while I get this blog back on track. We are fixing up our house to put on the market soon (why do most people make the house beautiful before they sell it?). So I have been caught up with packing, painting, staining......the list is endless. However, I am redirecting some of my energies to my Stampin' Up! career, my wonderful customers and (YEA) myself.

I just can't bring myself to pack my Stampin' Up! stuff, my scrapbooking stuff (which is really the very same as #1) or my Designer Series Paper. I just received my sneak peek package that will be in the NEW CATALOG in July and I have to tell you.....well, WOW is really all I can say right now.....Just WOW! I have already planned out a page that will feature my new goodies and hope to have that picture posted very, very soon!

Family collage (cased, of course)

I just fell in love with this frame (it's a little different since mine is a scrapbook page) that was featured in the Stampin' Up! Monthly magazine a little while ago. I did use the same paper but varied the embellishments and I arranged the letters to spell out my daughter's name.....it made her happy :)
I think I am going to be hanging that page in a frame on the wall.
Now I need to do one for my son later today. I do love caseing the gist of others ideas, sometimes I just need to get rolling. I hope you like it!
Well, it's sideways again....That really is the only complaint about Blogger, I will try again to flip it.

Wow!!! I simply love these punches! I had some scraps of paper from one of my many shaving cream sessions :) and I used the Build A Blossom set and punch to design this card. I also used our new Tulip border embossing plate and ,boom, I have a rather elegant card (it's elegant for me....)

Inspired: Frame using Retired Designer Series Paper

I made this frame using up some of my retired stash of Designer Series Paper, some our awesome (no, really, it is awesome!) textured paper, a chipboard flower covered in craft ink and Iridescent Ice embossing powder,  a retired punch (BoHo Blossoms), some white ribbon and our Rhinestones in the middle of the flowers.  I made it for my niece, Tracy who is a fantastic artist/painter. The frame has tons of sparkle in it, but that doesn't seem to show up in the picture at all. The flower itself is ALL SPARKLE and the colors just flow together so nicely. I love that all of our products coordinate together, stamps, punches, colors, well, EVERYTHING! It makes putting together a project fast, easy and fun......what could be better?

Welcome to Stock Show!

It's January in Denver, that means cold weather and Stock Show is in town. This will be my daughter's last Stock Show with Westernaires. :(

It all starts with the Stock Show Parade which is always fun to photograph. We will actually have a herd of Longhorn Bulls running down the center of a downtown street! It's like the running of the bulls in Spain only under much more control. It's a fairly long parade with most of the Show Show acts being represented and it's always great to see the children's faces when the horses and bulls come by.
I always take pictures with my big camera, but I will try to get a decent shot with my phone so I can upload it as it's happening. It'll be just like you're there with me.....TTFN.

Happy New Year!

I don't usually make resolutions for the New Year but I am making an exception this year. This is the year I go from a "hobby" Demonstrator to a "business" Demonstrator. I have been job hunting for the last 6 to 8 months and I haven't been able to find a position that offers the benefits and opportunities that my very own Stampin' Up! Business allows me. Don't get me wrong, there are some great jobs out there......and for every 1 position there are 1or 2 hundred qualified people applying for it. I may not have a degree, but I love stamping, scrapbooking and, well, anything to do with Stampin' Up! I love getting together with all of you, doing a couple of stamping projects, laughing and just having a great time.
When I think of it.......I already have my "perfect" job.
So, now I'd like to thank all of my wonderful friends, family and the best customers in the world for helping me see the light. Bless you all!
